Vince Williams

Lead Producer

As an award-winning video production specialist that always looks for new opportunities, Vince is always looking for continued ways to contribute to an industry he is very passionate about. He has over a decade of experience and with each unique project that comes his way, can take a role of leadership as a Producer or as a technical, creative supporter through Videographer and Editor roles.  Vince also teaches film production courses at Regent University including classes, such as Documentary, Cinematography, Lighting and Short Film Production. Teaching is a way for him to give back to the future generation of filmmakers.

Tiffany Joy Taylor

Lead Producer

As a graduate from Regent University & student in the MFA Directing program, she also enjoys the producing side of filmmaking. She’s produced many of her own student films as well as assistant to the producers for the Corbin Bernsen feature film, Mary for Mayor which provided her with experience that led to her interest in producing Regent’s endowed film. As an actress herself, she enjoys working with actors the most when directing film & feels that knowledge is important for directors. Tiffany has always been interested in storytelling & from an early age began writing stories; one essay from 3rd grade (8 years old) about wanting to make Christian films to help people learn more about God. Her favorite childhood memory that stands out was convincing her junior high science club to help create a film she had written. She enjoys a variety of creative mediums & sees filmmaking as a comprehensive creation of the arts & the ability for artists from different mediums coming together. Tiffany enjoys writing a story that will be visually depicted with the contribution of other filmmakers allowing the story to get outside of one’s own head. Dr. Peter Fraser, Chair Peggy Southerland, Professor Vince Williams, and Megan Weaver have been amazing mentors at Regent & Tiffany enjoys being around a community of like-minded artists; well grounded in their faith with God. Particularly to film, her advice is to get actively involved on professional sets. Don’t be afraid of mistakes; be willing to put yourself out there. What you learn in the classroom will make more sense when you are able to apply it to the real world!

Miriam Perry-Lincoln

Associate Producer and Casting Director

She is a senior at Regent studying Communications with a minor in Cinema/ Television. Miriam is very grateful for everything she's learned; especially how to effectively communicate within groups. Her interest in film started early. As a child, she remembers receiving a camcorder from her dad before he passed away. She enjoyed using it to tell stories & create short films with her whole family. In middle & high school, she attended various art academies where some of her artwork won local, regional & national awards. Her favorite part from studying at Regent has been learning from other people, the groups she's been a part of, and resources she's learned about outside of the classroom. She enjoys working in multimedia and after graduation wants to work towards being a Creative Art Director. Miriam enjoys the producing side of a film because of the behind the scenes work she gets to do that allows the creative side of production to run smoothly. She was excited to have a say in the casting for this project & felt she had an opportunity to bring diversity into the cast this year. For this production, she explained there were several choices in casting the lead roles for The Harmonica Man. She hopes the audience will learn not to stereotype or typecast, and recognize that they have a say in diversity. Her advice to students; don’t come into college thinking you know everything. Be an open learner! It’s important to realize that the teams you’re part of can help you grow and learn a lot along the way.

Jarrett Ksaizek

Associate Producer and Writer

As a senior Cinema-Television student at Regent University, Jarrett's family owned a lot of VHS tapes which is where he developed his love for storytelling. His favorites as a kid included Raggedy Ann and Andy's Magical Adventure and The Land Before Time. When Jarrett wasn't acting in home videos with his brother, he also enjoyed writing stories and reading. He participated in theater productions for church and theater groups. He remembers auditioning for the Kid in the Leggo My Eggo commercial. Jarrett wrote The Harmonica Man when he was 17 years old and agrees that both reading and writing are of important practice for every successful writer. Regent's Christian atmosphere stands out to him and he is grateful for professors in the program like Vince Williams who is an influential part in the program.  Jarrett is pursuing a career in the film industry as a screenwriter and is also interested in directing and producing. He says, "First put your trust in Jesus. And don't give up. Have the confidence in your work and yourself. Do not be afraid of failure - embrace it."

Ty Sheetz

Director

Ty is a senior Cinema-Television student at Regent University with the interest in becoming a future director and writer. Since 8 years old, Ty has been passionate about telling stories by creating short films with his friends. One of his favorite film series, The Lord of the Rings has inspired much of his creativity. His main takeaway from directing, The Harmonica Man, is that being a leader requires being a servant and trusting one's team in their strengths. He believes that this project will set a new standard for future Regent University funded filmmaking projects. Sheetz hopes it will inspire future students towards their creative passion.  Ty challenges them to get out onto film sets to learn as much as they can to develop their own style in the film industry.

Joe Filisko

Composer

"Revered as a master player, teacher, custom harmonica pioneer, researcher and historian, Joe Filisko is arguably the world’s foremost authority on many aspects of the diatonic harmonica and a key figure in today’s harmonica scene. Over the past 20 years, he has had a tremendous influence on the developments in all aspects of the culture of the instrument. Since the early 1990s, his groundbreaking work in improving the playability of the instrument has directly affected the production of all major harmonica manufacturers. In recent years, Joe’s reputation as a performer and recording artist has been catching up with his legendary status as a customizer and teacher. Since he first hooked up with guitarist/vocalist Eric Noden in 2003, the duo has released three highly regarded CDs and has performed at concerts and festivals around the globe. Though his work as a scholar and a craftsman have rightly earned him a place in the harmonica pantheon, it is as a player that he truly shines. Joe Filisko coaxes sounds from the harmonica which few before him have ever created and which open up new perspectives for countless players and lovers of this remarkable little instrument."  - Steve Baker

Derek Yancey

Director of Photography

He is a senior cinema-television student at Regent University from Louisa, VA. He began using a camcorder his parents gave him to tell stories of a war scene with his army figures. Photography was the art form that introduced him to the camera and helped show him how to show a character’s emotion through a single image. Derek also enjoys making music, drawing, and action films. Since one of his first projects that involved directing in 2012, he’s enjoyed that side of a production. He sees directing as a constant learning experience of how to visually communicate one’s idea more effectively. The most rewarding part about working on The Harmonica Man for him was the joy of seeing all the elements of the scene come together and look better than he’d imagined. I hope it raises awareness for what individuals who are homeless go through and help provide a way they can solve their problem. He also hopes it inspires people to use their God-given creative talents to offer a solution to a problem through an artistic medium. He’s enjoyed the relationships he’s made in college that have challenged him to continually learn more about filmmaking and collaborating with other students. After college, Derek is interested in starting his career in directing. His advice for film students; always remember to stay connected with other filmmakers, new improvements in the industry, and never stop writing or looking for new ways to get out to create films!
